A COUPLE of Rhyl residents have been jailed after stealing from the Boots shop in Llandudno on consecutive days last week.
Stefan Voicu, 39, and Mariana Dragusin, 34, both of no fixed abode, were each sentenced to 12 weeks’ imprisonment at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on November 23.
On the same date, they both admitted two counts of theft and going equipped for theft each.
The court heard that, on November 21, Voicu and Dragusin, while equipped with a foil lined bag, stole toiletries worth a total of £760 from Boots, Parc Llandudno Retail Park, Conway Road.
Voicu and Dragusin returned to the store the following day, again with a foil lined bag, and on that occasion stole £1,370 of toiletries.
In total, they stole £2,130 worth of toiletries from the shop.
Magistrates deemed that only a custodial sentence would suffice as punishment due to their “significant degree of planning”, and the “high value of goods” that they stole.
Voicu and Dragusin were also each handed a seven-month driving ban.
Both defendants will pay a £154 surcharge upon their release from prison.
