PRESTATYN celebrated a successful first "Winter Fest” on the town’s High Street last weekend, which followed the switching on of its Christmas lights.

The two-day "extravaganza" featured Santa’s grotto at the “Now to Bed” store, live music from the likes of the The Vale Singers ladies’ choir and Music Dimensions, and festive food and drinks.

There were also craft stalls, a market, a small fairground, and a High Street-wide snowman hunt for people to enjoy.

High Street traders also took part in a window display competition, with entries judged by the mayor of Prestatyn, Cllr Bob Murray, and his consort, Cllr Carol Holliday.

This was won by Vagabonds gift shop, with florists Blooming Gorgeous finishing as runners-up.

The aim of Winter Fest was to “encourage shopping local”, shining a light on the town’s business owners and their services.

It was organised by Prestatyn Town Council and Prestatyn Business Forum, and came after the town's Christmas lights were turned on for the first time this year on November 24.
