PRESTATYN will get into the festive spirit this weekend as the town’s Christmas lights are switched on, followed by its first “Winter Fest”.
Organised by Prestatyn Town Council, a programme of events has been organised to celebrate the Christmas lights switch-on from 12-6pm on Friday (November 24).
On November 25 and 26, the Winter Fest will take place; a two-day “extravaganza” to be based on the town’s High Street.
The Christmas lights will be switched on at Lower High Street, by M&S, at 4.30pm on November 24, while there will also be musical performances, children’s activities, a visit from Santa and more.
There will also be a “sketch and draw” event, where people can make tree decorations, between 1-6pm.
A full itinerary for the day can be found below:

Winter Fest, meanwhile, will include Santa’s grotto, live music, festive food and drinks, craft stalls, a market, a small fairground, a lots of family fun.
The main events on each day will take place between 10am and 4pm, with the aim of the event to “encourage shopping local”, shining a light on the town’s business owners and their services.
It has been organised by Prestatyn Town Council and Prestatyn Business Forum.
Hayley Morgan, owner of The Twisted Tree (based on High Street) and a member of the forum, said: “This will be the first event of its kind and something we hope to grow year on year.
“The purpose of the event is to provide a weekend of festive fun for the whole family, whilst encouraging people to explore our wonderful town and high street.
“Helping to spread the message of ‘shop local, spend local, support local’ really does make a world of difference.”
Parking will be free in Prestatyn, meanwhile, between 9am and 5pm on November 24, 25 and 26, and December 15 and 16, at the following public car parks:
