THE SeaQuarium in Rhyl has offered 150 free tickets at its premises for homeless and underprivileged families to use and enjoy this week.
They were passed on to fundraiser Richard Kendrick yesterday (November 21), to be used by November 27.
This comes at the same time that the attraction, on Rhyl’s seafront, is offering discounted entry for a limited time to residents with a “LL” postcode.

Richard, who has previously helped arrange visits to other Rhyl attractions for homeless residents, thanked SeaQuarium for this “nice surprise”.
He said: “They’ve only got until this weekend, but I know loads of them will be used.
“For a lot of homeless people in Rhyl, the SeaQuarium is only across the road from where they’re based.
“Especially for those who can’t afford it or who haven’t been there, it’s a little treat before Christmas.”
More than 50 of these tickets have been passed on by Richard to Denbighshire County Council’s homelessness prevention team, with others to go to Rhyl-based groups who look after people on low budgets.
He is also looking to raise money to take families in temporary care to Geronimo’s Adventure Playzone, on West Parade, to play, share a meal, and meet Santa.
Colette MacDonald, director at the SeaQuarium, said: “Richard Kendrick is one of our SeaQuarium ambassadors, as during COVID, which was a difficult time for everyone, he worked to raise funds which helped us provide much-needed supplies for the animals.
“We have seen how proactive and amazing Richard is with helping the community and his fundraising and awareness-raising quest for the homeless, and helping people in need.
“Especially now, during the cost of living crisis, we have issued 150 free admission tickets so Richard can distribute them among the underprivileged and homeless families and other charities he selects.
“As a local business over the years, we have helped out lots of charities and good causes with complimentary admission to see our wonderful seals and other aquatic animals.
“We always want families to see and enjoy the facilities and make memories visiting SeaQuarium, as well as hoping to act as an educational tool while not learning through conventional school means.
“We at SeaQuarium hope our guests who visit us will treasure the memories they make whilst at the aquarium and encourage further learning and interest in animals and the planet in the future.”
