A FISH and chip shop based in Rhyl has received a “Good Food Award” for chippies.
Les & Rita's Fish Bar, on Wellington Road, was given the award, which has celebrated culinary excellence across the UK since 2002.
The Good Food Awards, also known as the “Blue Ribbon for Delicious Dishes”, are awarded to those who excel in food quality, service, and value.
Deciding the winners is based largely on customer feedback/votes and online reviews.

This means yet more success for Les & Rita’s, after it won a 2023 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award in October.
Those awards were based on the reviews customers post on TripAdvisor’s website.
In total, it has received more than 400 TripAdvisor reviews, with in excess of 300 rating it as “excellent”.
Travellers' Choice winners are among the top 10 per cent of businesses on TripAdvisor.
The chippy was also one of 18 businesses to make a list compiled by The Times of the best fish and chip shops in the UK, published in July.
Les & Rita’s is a family-run business set up in 1968 by Les and Rita Pidduck, who are helped today in running the restaurant by their daughter, Kay.
Between Kay, and new members of staff Eunice Grayson and Kathy Batterbee, the three of them have roughly 115 years’ experience of working in a fish and chip shop.
A statement on its Facebook page read: “Pleased to say that it’s been announced that we are a ‘Good Food Award’ winner… how nice is that?!”
