EVENTS in Rhyl, Prestatyn and Rhuddlan honoured the country's fallen heroes on Remembrance Sunday.
A Remembrance Sunday service took place at St Thomas' Church in Rhyl from 9.30am until 10.30am.
This was followed by a parade to the Garden of Remembrance for a short service to observe the two-minute silence and wreath laying.
Deputy Lieutenant of Clwyd (Mr. Tom Anwyl) laid a wreath, and Rhyl Mayor Councillor Jacquie McAlpine, together with her Honour Cadet, laid a wreath on behalf of the townspeople of Rhyl.
Hundreds of people turned out in Rhuddlan to pay their respects on Remembrance Sunday.
Officiating the event was Detective Chief Inspector Tim Wynne-Jones.
The Parade was led by the Rhyl Marching Band, and closely followed the standard bearers led by Lisa Lee, serving Members of the Armed Forces, Veterans, Councillors, Cubs, Scouts, Beavers, Guides, Brownies, members of local organisations and groups and many local residents.
The parade marched down Rhuddlan High Street to St Mary’s Church for the Remembrance Service led by the Rev Peter Mayo-Smith and assisted by Mayor Cllr. Mike Kermode and Cllr. Arwel Roberts.
After the service the parade made its way past Rhuddlan Castle back to the Rhuddlan Civic War Memorial.
After the two minutes' silence, 28 wreaths were laid with Mayor Cllr. Mike Kermode and Rev Peter Mayo-Smith officiating.
Tea and Coffee were served at the Rhuddlan Community Centre to warm everyone up after the event.
Mr Kermode said: "There was a fantastic response from the community of Rhuddlan to pay respect to the fallen.
"It was heart-warming to see all the volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes with arrangements and also to all the people who came and supported the event.
"I want to thank everybody from making Remembrance Sunday such a special tribute to remember those who gave so much for our freedom."
