A GIRL from Prestatyn has seen an “amazing” response to a book appeal after her book swap was ruined by other children.
Nine-year-old Skye Potter started a book swap cupboard near her house on Meadows Lane more than a year ago, for people to leave books and take others in a sharing scheme.
Her mum Alison said they had seen some “trouble” in the past few weeks, which had seen books from the swap “ripped up”.

“We’ve had some trouble with local school children ripping up the books and throwing them around the surrounding area,” Alison told the Journal.
“After I’d posted on Facebook asking for more books to fill it up, the response has been amazing.
“We’ve had a paramedic visit and drop off books, give Skye a gift and took her for a drive in the car.
“Chocolates, cards and lots of messages - the book swap is now full of books and we have more to put out.”
