A YOUNG singer from Kinmel Bay will be thinking of her older cousin when she performs at one of the most famous music clubs in the world.
Ella-Grace Pritchard, 13, has been booked to perform at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. She will sing three song and help raise money towards Prevention of Suicides The Samaritans (Liverpool Branch).
The Cavern Club is one of the most famous music clubs in the world and will forever be associated with the Beatles. The venue celebrated its 60th year in 2017. Over more recent years, the venue has welcomed Adele, Jessie J, James McCartney, Yoko Ono, Joe Bomamassa and Monkee Micky Dolenz.
Mum Ceri Ann Pritchard said: "Ella Grace's older cousin Kelly took her own life during the pandemic. Ella is honoured to be performing in her memory whilst supporting an amazing charity raising awareness and honouring her cousin Kelly."
Kelly's dad Tony Murray said: "Following the loss of my beautiful daughter Kelly, who sadly took her own life, it’s important that we try to help all those considering following this route, for whatever cause.
"There are too many people taking their own lives and a drastic increase particularly with our youngsters. No parent should ever suffer this devastating loss of their child - and if we can help prevent suicide and encourage them to talk - this would help."
Kelly, who had just qualified as a dental nurse, left behind three children. She was only 42.
Ceri added: "Kelly was a lovely outgoing girl. She had a beautiful smile but behind her smile, she was suffering so much with her mental health.
"It means so much that Ella-Grace is doing this for her cousin. She is dedicating a song for her on the night. She is proud to be doing this for her and raising awareness for others going through mental health."
Ella-Grace earned a place in 2022 at the prestigious Hammond School in Chester.
