AN ENTERTAINMENT programme has started at a care home in Prestatyn, with the aim of stimulating and engaging its residents.
Priory House, on Gronant Road, caters for 29 residents, many of whom are living with dementia.
This programme is a combination of performances by a range of external guest artists, and in-house sessions of communal sing-alongs focussing on old music hall and wartime songs.

All guest artists are professional musicians, many with specialist training in dementia and older people’s interests.
Guest artists include Reverend Wynne Roberts BEM, who has performed as an Elvis Presley tribute act for the last eight years.
Since then, Wynne has combined both careers to engage with audiences, patients with chronic conditions, and people living with dementia.
He will be performing again at the home on November 12, to coincide with Remembrance Sunday.
Other guests will include Anglesey-based musician Pixy Tom, who plays more than 15 instruments, and Billy Thompson Gypsy Style.
The latter will be performing at the home on Saturday (October 28) at 10.30am.
A spokesperson for the home said: “Live music does engage with them; music brings back memories, memories which have long gone, yet on hearing live performances, re-awakens something in them.
“It is wonderful to behold, and well worth celebrating.”
