RHYL-based Gamlins Law is the only law firm in North Wales to be selected for inclusion in a prestigious global legal guide.

The firm’s criminal law department is also one of only five in the whole of Wales to have made it into the Chambers UK Legal Guide 2024.

Every year, Chambers & Partners conducts a rigorous and independent research process to identify the law firms globally which are “market leaders”.

Gamlins Law’s crime department, led by director, higher court advocate and head of criminal law Dafydd Roberts, has been chosen for inclusion.

The guide describes Gamlins Law as “a well-established and reliable general crime firm”.

The Chambers Guide, which was first published more than 30 years ago, is regarded as a benchmark of excellence within the legal industry.

Dafydd Roberts said: “We are delighted to have been included in the Chambers Guide.

“There are now eight members of the team including six criminal lawyers, a senior legal assistant and the most recent addition, a case worker and former senior North Wales detective who brings with him over 30 years of experience working on some of the region’s highest-profile crimes.

“The growth of the firm’s criminal law department contrasts sharply with the UK-wide picture where crime teams are shrinking resulting in a stark shortage of duty solicitors available to represent clients at police stations.

“We also continue to invest in younger solicitors with two of our lawyers under the age of 40.

Gamlins Law, which employs more than 80 people, has its head office at Morfa Hall in Rhyl and further offices in Mold, Ruthin, Denbigh, Abergele and Holywell.

It offers a range of legal services including commercial, commercial and residential property, employment law, family and matrimonial, children, personal injury and clinical negligence, criminal, regulatory, litigation, inheritance tax, wills and probate.
