A PUB in Dyserth has had to close temporarily after suffering thousands of pounds’ worth of damage from the flooding caused by Storm Babet last week.
The New Inn, on Waterfall Road, said it is “really sad” to have to shut its doors after heavy rain on Friday (October 20) devastated the area.
Jill Carmichael, who runs the pub, said that repairs to the premises’ flooring and upholstery are likely to cost in the region of £15,000.

She added that it is hoped that the pub can re-open in “two to three weeks”.
The New Inn said in a statement: “Due to Storm Babet, we are all really sad to tell you we have had to close until further notice.
“We will keep you updated on social media.
“We truly cannot thank you enough for all your kindness and support today, and also recently during our takeover.
“Most of all, everyone - keep safe, and help as many people whose homes have been damaged, or who need food and water and can’t get out to the shops.
“Dyserth is an amazing community to be a part of.”
Since closing, the pub has been offering its leftover stock to foodbanks.
