A MAN from Rhyl has been handed a community order after he assaulted a woman whose property he also caused criminal damage to.

Ryan Izzard, 30, of Grange Road, was accused of assaulting Agata Izzard and causing criminal damage to property, as well as drink-driving, on August 19.

He admitted all three charges at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on October 11.

The court heard that Izzard was driving a Kia XCeed vehicle on Grange Road on the day in question, with 81 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

This is more than twice the legal UK limit of 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

District Judge Gwyn Jones ordered Izzard to complete a 120-day alcohol abstinence period, which will be electronically monitored.

Izzard will also a complete a 35-day programme, and 10 days’ rehabilitation activity requirements.

He is banned from driving for 20 months, but this will be reduced by 20 weeks if he completes an obligatory course by November 21, 2024.

In addition, Izzard is to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85, and a surcharge of £114, in full by November 8.

No order was made for compensation to be paid to Ms Izzard, as the two parties were said to have since reconciled.
