A MAN from Kinmel Bay was found dead by the River Clwyd last week, an inquest opening heard.
Simon Lee Stead died aged 34 on October 10, after being found on a footpath by the river between Kinmel Bay and Rhuddlan.
The opening of the inquest into his death was held in Ruthin today (October 16).

At the opening, it was heard that a man, while walking by the river, found a bag, the contents of which contained forms of identification for Mr Stead and a note.
Mr Stead was born in St Asaph and had worked as an aircraft engineer, the inquest opening heard.
Following a post-mortem examination, a provisional cause of death for Mr Stead has been provided as hanging.
John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, adjourned the inquest into Mr Stead’s death to a date to be fixed.
