A VETERINARY surgery in Prestatyn is set to break new ground by installing a new CT (computed tomography) scanner.
AllPets Veterinary Surgery, on Ffordd Pendyffryn, will celebrate its installation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, in the presence of Vale of Clwyd MP James Davies, on December 8.
CT is an imaging modality based on 3D X-rays, which provides extremely detailed images of body structures and 3D reconstructions.

The veterinary CT scanner will allow AllPets to significantly improve how it approaches certain cases.
CT has many uses, including for investigations into respiratory, nasal and orthopaedic diseases, and soft tissue surgery planning.
AllPets, which has a second surgery in Rhyl, will also be offering an outpatient CT scan service for referring veterinary practices.
Dr Richard Ryvar, director of AllPets, said: “We're an independent practice and we've invested heavily in our facilities to delivery the very best care for the pets of North Wales.
“This will be the first in-house CT scanner installed in North Wales that I am aware of.”
