A MAN from Rhyl has been spared jail despite breaching the terms of a restraining order issued to him.
David Thomas, 51, of Bodfor Street, was sentenced to eight weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on October 3.
He admitted the breach on the same day.

On July 24, at the same court, Thomas had been ordered not to contact Annelise Thomas by any means whatsoever, save for via a third party regarding child contact, for five years.
This followed convictions of harassment without violence, and of criminal damage to property, after he had damaged windows belonging to Ms Thomas.
But on September 25, he breached his restraining order by contacting her via email and social media.
He was given a custodial sentence due to his “disregard” for the court order, his “deliberate” breach, and causing “some harm” to Ms Thomas.
Though, his sentence was suspended on the condition that he continues to work with probation services, and proves he has a “prospect of rehabilitation”.
Thomas will also pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85.
