A NATIONAL Piri-Piri chicken franchise has experienced delays in getting its new store at a retail park in Rhyl up and running.

“Pepe’s Piri Piri” now hopes to open at unit 11 of the town’s Marina Quay Shopping Park by mid-October.

In July, Pepe’s had said that it hoped to open its Rhyl store in August, but this was put back amid “challenges to overcome”.

It set a revised opening month of September, but this has again been delayed due to “setbacks”.

A spokesperson for Pepe’s Piri Piri said: “We are looking at mid-October now due to some setbacks with gas supply to the retail park.

“This is an unfortunate situation.”

Another popular takeaway, believed to be Papa Johns, is due to be filling a unit adjacent to that which Pepe’s Piri Piri is taking on.
