A WOMAN from Rhyl claimed that she saw a dog left “chained up” in the town early on Thursday (September 21).
The woman, who asked not to be named, said she noticed the dog at about 4.30am that morning, chained to a metal fence on Ffordd Las.
She reported the matter to North Wales Police almost immediately after spotting the dog.

“It looked like a Staffordshire Cross Breed, tan in colour, with a collar, and the lead was attached to the metal fence,” the woman said.
“We couldn’t stop because we were on our way to our first job and in our work van, but phoned the police straight away.
“I was just shocked with what I had just seen.”
North Wales Police said that, though the incident was reported to the force, it is a “matter for the dog warden”.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police added: “Passing patrol noted the dog had been removed and was therefore not abandoned.”
