A FORMER cruise ship singer and market stall holder has turned 100 years young.
Kathleen Green, of Rhyl, celebrated her landmark birthday on September 6.
She celebrated at home with a small tea party which family, friends and neighbours attended.
As well as working as a singer on cruise ships, Kathleen has worked in the Menzies store in the high street.
In later years she ran a stall in the old market selling dolls and gifts.
Friend Kim Hughes has known Kathleen for about four years; she is her domestic help and carer.
"We have developed a friendship throughout our time together," Kim said.
"Kathy is an independent person and knows what she wants but appreciates help when needed.
"She is a lovely lady and can be fun too."
Kathleen received a card from King Charles III.
Kim said: "She said she could not believe she had reached 100 years but was very happy."
