A ROCK star's wife reflected on her wedding day as she and her Alarm frontman husband Mike marked 35 years of marriage.
Jules and Mike Peters were married on August 27, 1988, at Prestatyn Parish Church.
Jules, of Dyserth, remembers the High Street being closed down for the occasion and Alarm fans cramming into the church.
Jules said: "I remember it as if it was yesterday.
"The crowds lined the streets of Prestatyn as dad and I arrived in a beautiful vintage cream Rolls Royce, driven by a lovely older chap from the hills. The car had broken down earlier in the morning which added to the drama of the busy preparations and whirl up to the big day. The one thing I did not want was to be late on my wedding day.
"As we turned the corner into Prestatyn High Street, my dad and I were a little taken aback by the huge crowds that had congregated along the pavements. The High Street had been closed down especially for the occasion and the police were out in force, managing the crowds.
"Alarm fans were everywhere and unbeknownst to Dad and I, Mike and the Reverend Clive Southerton had invited the Alarm fans into the Church. It was crammed and before I knew it, dad had delivered me to the altar and Mike was singing 'Stand By Me' with such passion, tears falling from his eyes.

"I was wearing a long veil and my bridesmaids, Louise, Martine, Vicky and Laurie, all dressed in Poppy Red, were stood alongside me. It was a beautiful ceremony, brimming with love, passion and vitality.
"The beautiful Parish Church was lit by a spark of family and friends, united together under one roof," Jules added.
"Rev Clive Southerton is a master orator and he set the tone with his vibrant words of love hope and strength. All our parents, Bob, Marj, Pete and Dottie were decked out in their finery, standing proudly by as they had witnessed our whirlwind romance over the previous two years. Our parents went on to become great friends with Bob sadly leaving us too soon. He always had a wink and a joke for me and was famously delighted when I turned up on his doorstep at 2am on August 14 1986 - Mike had forgotten his key! telling Marj that Mike has a blonde with him.
"Our Best Man, Red, from Rhuddlan, was a superb best man and remains so to this day.
"So many friends and family joined us on our perfect day, together with local residents and Alarm fans; all intoxicated by the promise that a big old fashioned wedding provides."
