EMERGENCY services were called to an incident regarding a concern for the welfare of a person by Rhyl’s seafront this afternoon (September 1).
Rhyl RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was tasked with assisting police, Coastguard crews and beach lifeguards following a report of a concern for a person's safety.
It received the report at 2.33pm.
The inshore lifeboat stood by as nobody could be seen in the water at Rhyl Beach.
After a few minutes, the person in question was sighted by lifeguards and Coastguards on the promenade, by Rhyl Pavilion Theatre.
Police then attended, and the lifeboat was stood down at 3pm.
The matter was classed as a “standby” by Rhyl RNLI.
North Wales Police confirmed that this was a "concern for safety incident" but declined to comment further.
