An airline has announced it will be trialling adult-only zones on flights later this year.
The move could mean sitting next to a screaming baby becomes a thing of the past for holidaymakers.
The trial is being launched by Corendon Dutch Airlines, and will begin on flights between Amsterdam and Curacao, in the Caribbean.
From November 3, 102 seats on the airline’s flights on that route will be dedicated “adult-only” seats.
They will be split from the rest of the plane by walls and curtains to create “a shielded environment that contributes to a calm and relaxed flight”.
Seats in the adult only zone will cost an extra €45 for one flight, rising to €100 for the extra-large seats.
Atilay Uslu, chairman and founder of Corendon, said: “On board our flights, we always strive to respond to the different needs of our customers.
“We are also the first Dutch airline to introduce the Only Adult zone, because we are trying to appeal to travellers looking for some extra peace of mind during their flight.
“We also believe this can have a positive effect on parents travelling with small children. They can enjoy the flight without worrying if their children make more noise.”
