POLICE and lifeboat crews were called to a “search for a vulnerable person” in Rhyl this afternoon (August 1).
The person in question was found on Rhyl Beach shortly after the town’s Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) crew had been called to assist North Wales Police and Rhyl Coastguard.
Rhyl RNLI said: “Rhyl’s inshore lifeboat launched at 2.40pm on August 1 to assist Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team and North Wales Police in a search for a vulnerable person to the east of the boathouse.
“Just after launching, the RNLI lifeguards at Rhyl reported that the person had been found on the beach.
“The lifeboat was stood down, returning to the station at 3pm.”
North Wales Police added that this was a "concern for safety" incident.
Attempts have been made to contact Rhyl Coastguard and RNLI Lifeguards North Wales, for further comment.
