A TWO-day “extravaganza” event will be held for the first time in Prestatyn this winter.
“Winter Fest” will be based on the town’s High Street during the weekend of November 25 and 26.
The first event of its kind in the town, it has been organised by Prestatyn Business Forum, and with the support of Prestatyn Town Council.
Father Christmas will be present to join in with the festivities, while a number of craft stalls will also be among the weekend’s attractions.
It will be preceded by the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights.

A Prestatyn Town Council spokesperson said: “Prestatyn Town Council is delighted to be working in partnership with Prestatyn Business Forum and businesses, in supporting this year’s ‘Winter Fest’ taking place on November 25 and 26 throughout the High Street.
“It promises to be wonderful weekend, following on from the Christmas light celebrations, and will offer craft stalls, Father Christmas Grotto, variety of activities, and many more attractions.”
The aim of the weekend is to “encourage shopping local”, shining a light on the town’s business owners and the services and goods they provide.

A spokesperson for Prestatyn Business Forum added: "As business owners of Prestatyn, the forum wanted to get plans underway for Christmas nice and early.
“Together, we put our ideas and plans for an extravaganza, and with the support of Prestatyn Town Council, we promise this to be an event not to miss!
“The whole idea of ‘Winter Fest’ is to promote our amazing High Street and what we have to offer our residents, visitors and shoppers.
“We will be kicking off with a two-day Christmas market held in the stunning grounds of The Vicarage and a Santa's grotto experience on the High Street, with entertainment and activities planned in conjunction with Prestatyn Town Council.
“We hope the two-day event will kickstart Christmas shopping on our High Street and will encourage shopping local, while bringing awareness of what we hard-working business owners have to offer.
