A CORONATION Street star was spotted checking out a Rhyl vendor’s wares at a market in Towyn yesterday (July 26).

Alex Bain, who plays Simon Barlow in the popular soap, was spotted in Tir Prince Market at the stall of Vinali Candles, a Rhyl-based business specialising in handmade soy wax candles, wax melts and bath bombs.

The actor’s Coronation Street character is a fan favourite, featuring heavily in many storylines.

For his role as Simon Barlow, Bain won Best Young Performance at the British Soap Awards in 2011, and has been nominated at the awards another four times.

After meeting the actor, the owner of Vinali Candles, which also counts The Vivienne among its customers, said on social media: “Another celebrity loving my products! Thank you Alex aka Simon.”
