THIS week we asked members of the camera club to share photographs celebrating the theme of pink - all in honour of the smash hit movie Barbie.
In the movie currently in cinemas, Margot Robbie is in the pink in Oscar-nominated writer-director Greta Gerwig’s uneven satire of modern gender roles based on the enduringly popular dolls.
Moments of comic brilliance punctuate a script co-written by Gerwig and real-life partner Noah Baumbach.
Using Robbie’s conflicted heroine as a twinkly-eyed mouthpiece, the movie enforces timely messaging about sisterly solidarity and independence, openly challenge chauvinistic behaviour and rebuke outdated attitudes about women’s roles in society.
