Rhyl has long been known for its variety of places to eat out, offering locals and visitors alike a range of dining options.
However, recent closures have left many residents searching for new places to satisfy their culinary cravings.
With that in mind, we asked Journal readers to share their favourite places to eat.
One of the most beloved restaurants among Rhyl residents is Barratt's on Vale Road.
Rose Callcott, a dedicated fan, couldn't help but express her adoration for the establishment.
She said: "Barratt's is the best food in Rhyl."
Similarly, Sabrina Daglish echoed the sentiment, praising the establishment for its outstanding cuisine.
Another popular pick was The Bistro, which unfortunately had to close recently due to health issues.
Dianne Tudor, a fan of the Bistro, lamented its closure and pointed out the lack, in her view, of quality dining options in Rhyl.
She expressed a desire for more high-quality restaurants, rather than just takeaways.
Some individuals had fond memories of establishments.
Dennis Evanson fondly remembered the Blue Lion in Cwm, a popular spot for him more than 30 years ago.
He mentioned that he was unsure if it was still around, having left Rhyl 25 years prior.
We happy to confirm that the Blue Lion is still going strong.
Other notable mentions include The Red Lion in Meliden, The Eagle and Child near Prestatyn, and La Mer Rouge in Shrewsbury.
These establishments were highly appreciated by their respective patrons for their delicious offerings.
While many readers reminisced about their favourite restaurants, others had more unique choices.
Ivor Lewis humorously suggested Burger King as the best restaurant he had ever been.
There was also a lot of love for Les & Rita's Fish Bar in the town, as well as some championing McDonald's and KFC.
Asian cuisine remains a favourite among locals, with Aaron Boyd vouching for the quality of The Laughing Buddha in Rhyl and others singing the praises of Chynna Garden in Prestatyn.
Vegans and those looking to eat less meat, recommended the Green Island Bistro in Rhuddlan.
There were also some recommendations for restaurants outside of Rhyl.
Sammy Clowes highly recommended The Lobster Pot on Anglesey, while Susan Ball praised The Fisheries.
These establishments showcased the diversity of dining experiences available in the wider area.
Derek Griffiths recalled The Floral in Craig Y Don, Llandudno, during the 80s as the best place he had ever eaten.
He also mentioned Rules Restaurant and Gary Rhodes at the Greenhouse, both in London, as memorable dining experiences.
With the closure of several beloved establishments, locals are now searching for new culinary hotspots.
The loss of The Bistro, in particular, has left a void in the hearts and stomachs of many Rhyl residents.
The need for more high-quality restaurants in its absence has been highlighted.
As Rhyl continues to evolve, it remains to be seen which establishments will rise to take the place of old favourites.
There are new players in town, such as Fullaflavourz in Vale Road that has won over many diners with its soul food.
The restaurant scene in Rhyl and its surrounding areas has always been a vibrant one, offering something for every palate.
Whether it's a local chippy, a Chinese restaurant, or a fine dining experience, residents are eager to find their new go-to spot.
