A CHILDREN’S soft play area and café in Rhyl which opened late last year is to change hands and be taken over by a childcare company in the town.

“Lollie’s Play Cafe”, on Vale Road, will close at the end of July after owner Lauren Jones put the site up for sale due to “unexpected changes in my personal life”.

From August 1, the premises will then be under the ownership of Beach House Childcare Ltd, which plans to open its third Rhyl site in the town.

The site will close while a redesigning process takes place, with Louise McCabe-Allen, of Beach House Childcare, hoping to open “Little Learners @ Beach House” in autumn.

It will be suitable for children aged between two and 11 years old to attend.

Beach House Childcare said: “Our aim with Little Learners will be to provide a totally holistic experience for our little people to access the very best pre school education and out-of-school care.

“Parents and carers will also be invited to termly events, where you can come along and meet your children's 'grown-ups', see what they have been up to, and discuss their development.

“We will also be providing out of school care for the older children, too”.

“Over the summer, we will hold open events so that parents/carers can pop in and see the setting for yourself, which includes lovely indoor areas as well as two fantastic gardens, and a huge 3x4m-covered sandpit - known as the 'Digger Den'.

“Children learn so much in the outdoors and we will definitely be making the most of these spaces to enhance and encourage our children's growth.

“We are so very excited for the future and cannot wait to share it all with you.”

Beach House Childcare’s other sites in Rhyl are along the town’s promenade and at St Thomas’ Church.

Meanwhile, Lauren will hold a number of special events in the final week before Lollie’s Play Café closes.

Until its closure, Lollie’s Play Café remains open as normal.

Lauren said: “It’s a bit emotional, but I’m happy that it’s all been done quite quickly.

“Louise was one of the first people to get in touch, and the first to come and see the site, and she made an offer there and then.

“I’m glad that it’s going to someone local, and that they’re keeping it as a similar kind of thing.”
