A MAN was taken to hospital following an early morning crash.
The incident happened between Junction 28 Rhuallt and Junction 27 at St Asaph at about 3.30am on Wednesday, July 5.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called this morning (05 July) shortly before 3.30am to reports of a road traffic collision.
"We sent one emergency ambulance, one Cymru high Acuity response unit paramedic and one duty operational manager to the scene.
"One person was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd hospital for further treatment.”
A spokesperson from North Wales Police said: "We were called at 3.30am this morning (July 5) to report a single-vehicle collision on the A55 Westbound near to Rhuallt Hill.
"Emergency Services attended the incident which resulted in the road being closed.
"One man was subsequently taken to hospital with serious injuries."
The road was reopened at 7am.
Traffic Wales North tweeted just after 7am: "A55 Westbound between J28 Rhuallt and J27 StAsaph - now clear. All lanes have now reopened."
