A POPULAR independent men’s clothing shop has moved to a new home on Prestatyn’s High Street.
Detour Menswear has relocated from 121 to 46 High Street, and welcomed customers to its new home for the first time yesterday (June 30).
Now based opposite the Scala cinema, the store had a “soft launch” yesterday, before a full opening event next Saturday (July 8).
Adam Sugarman, who runs the store and whose father started the business, said: “The main reason for moving was so we’re in a better location in terms of footfall.
“There’s much more footfall at the bottom of the High Street, mainly because of the (Parc Prestatyn) retail park there, and all of the nearby parking that our customers now have access to.
“We just wanted to get down nearer to the bars and food places, and just get amongst it, really. It’s a bigger space, as well; double the size, and double the stock.”
Established in 1987, Detour is among North Wales’ largest independent retailers, and also has a shop on Rhyl’s High Street.
Its Prestatyn shop initially opened last year, offering a selection of menswear brands including Hugo Boss, Armani, Fred Perry and many more.
