A SWIMMING pool in Rhyl will close for 12 weeks to enable a new roof to be installed.
The pool at Rhyl Leisure on Grange Road will shut from July 24.
A statement on the Rhyl Leisure Facebook page on Tuesday, June 27 said: "A programme of essential building maintenance will start this summer which will impact our swimming programme at Rhyl Leisure.
"The roof which spans the pool hall has been a long standing issue, and finally we are in a position to replace it thanks to our landlord Denbighshire County Council.
"Denbighshire Leisure Ltd (DLL) continue to invest in leisure facilities across Denbighshire, and remain committed to providing the best in class leisure offer.
"Working in partnership with Denbighshire County Council will help resolve a longstanding issue and protect the leisure offer in Rhyl for many years to come."
Whilst the swimming pool is closed, further maintenance works will also be taking place in various parts of the centre.
The remainder of the building will remain "fully operational".
The statement added: "For customers currently enrolled onto our Swimming Lesson programme, we are looking to accommodate as many swimmers as possible into our lesson programme at Nova, Prestatyn. Please note, we will be contacting all customers individually to discuss arrangements and options.
"There are currently 900 children on the Rhyl programme, so please bear with us whilst we go through this process – we will be in touch with everyone as soon as we can. In the meantime, please do not cancel your direct debit, as this will remove your child from the programme and they may then lose their place.

"We will also contact all clubs and organisations that currently use Rhyl’s swimming pool to discuss arrangements and options during the closure period."
Public swimming sessions will be available at the Nova in Prestatyn as well as Denbigh, Ruthin and Canolfan Hamdden Huw Jones [previously known as Corwen Leisure Centre].
Customers with DLL Swimming memberships will be able to use their memberships at any DLL swimming pool during the closure.
During the refurbishments, the fitness suite, studio, sports hall and all-weather pitch will be available as normal.
