A COUPLE of men and a youth have been arrested on suspicion of assault following an incident in Rhyl last week.

This was on Friday evening (June 23) near Bath Street, with those arrested having since been bailed.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “Officers responded to reports of a man being assaulted near to Bath Street in Rhyl.

“Two men and a juvenile were subsequently arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault, and have been released on police bail whilst our enquiries continue.”

Witness Clive Senior told the Journal that, at about 11.40pm on the night in question, he saw a number of police vehicles and armed officers in attendance at the scene.

He said: “I drove up Bath Street to see one marked and one unmarked police vehicle sat on the roundabout, with about six police officers.

“I headed down the promenade towards Kinmel Bay and saw an unmarked police vehicle up and down River Street and John Street, and a police van parked at the top of River Street by the promenade.

“A black marked vehicle was parked on Sandringham Avenue, with a drone up in the air.

“There were also two vehicles, with officers all kitted up in assault equipment, by the back of Aldi on Quay Street.”
