ON SATURDAY, June 24, the annual Dragon Boat Races were held at Llyn Padarn in Gwynedd.
Among the many entrants, all raising money for charity, was a team from Rhyl Rotary Club, who raised more than £1,000 for St David’s Hospice.
St David’s provides hospice care, free of charge, to adult patients across Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey.
A Rhyl Rotary spokesperson said: “Despite some of the rowers being rather ‘long in the tooth’, the team did incredibly well, improving their times each race and just missing out on reaching the semi-final stage.
“An incredible amount of money was raised by all the teams, with the Rotary Club alone raising over £1,000 for St David’s Hospice.
“The weather stayed warm and dry and although very tired, the team is looking forward to next year.”
