A NEW adventure attraction has opened at a holiday park in Towyn – and on Friday (June 23), the Journal went to try it out.

The “High Ropes” course opened at Whitehouse Leisure Park on May 27, and comprises 11 different elements for thrill-seekers to take on, including the “quick-flight jump” to finish.

Work got underway to build High Ropes on March 13, with the course designed by Penrith-based Technical Outdoor Solutions.

SF Parks is also due to open another adrenaline-fuelled activity – The Jump – right by High Ropes, where customers can leap from a three or six-foot platform onto a giant airbag.

Director Oliver Seldon, who helps run SF Parks’ sites along with his twin brother, Jonathan, said: “It’s been busy every weekend since it opened.

“The feedback’s been really good from people; we’ve had some people go on it for seven or eight days in a row while they’ve been at the park!

“We’re lucky; we’ve got a good team on it. They’re well-trained, and have experience of working on different parks and on high ropes courses.

“We’re just trying to put different things in the park. We want to try and put different activities in each of our parks, and have something for everyone.

“With High Ropes, we didn’t want to make it too difficult, because we have to cater for all age groups, but some of the elements are quite tricky. It’s worked out really well.

“People have to build their confidence up a bit more for the quick-flight jump!”

This latest addition to the park will be followed by an upgrade to Jakes family restaurant and pub, an amusement arcade, a cinema room, and soft play.

It is hoped that “The Jump” will open at the park by the end of July, with other ongoing plans at the site including an adults-only spa, and an outdoors beach bar.

High Ropes, which has created four jobs at the park, will be open to the public, and visitors can book in person or by visiting the company’s website.

SF Parks caravan owners will pay a discounted rate.
