A "POSSIBLE item of ordnance", pictured above, reported in Kinmel Bay was found to be a false alarm this morning (May 31).
Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team was alerted to the matter, in the village's sand dunes, and attended, but was found not to be a suspicious item.
Despite provide to be nothing to worry about, the Coastguard team said the person who reported it did "exactly the right thing".

A Coastguard statement said: Rhyl "Coastguard Rescue Team were called out this morning to a possible item of ordnance spotted in the dunes at Kinmel Bay.
"On close examination, the item was found to be safe, but the member of the public did exactly the right thing.
"If you see any suspicious object at or around the coast, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard, who are trained to deal with such things."
