A PUB in Rhyl which closed in March has been put up for sale for a six-figure sum.

The Blue Moon, on Vale Road, is available via commercial business agents Hilton Smythe, with an asking price set of £324,995.

It has been shut since March 17 following “unforeseen circumstances” arising, after initially being set to change hands from April.

Rhyl pub confirms closure following ‘unforeseen circumstances’

A spokesperson for The Blue Moon confirmed to the Journal on March 17 that the pub is “closed permanently as of today, but the owners are looking for a manager/tenant to resume the business as normal”.

The spokesperson added that they were “not sure on a timescale” for its potential re-opening.

Hilton Smythe describes it as a “highly-rated, free of ties pub”, which has now been made available due to “our client’s long commute to their home in Derbyshire”.

An leasehold option, valued at £24,995, is also available.

This would involve a five-to-seven-year lease, with rent charged at £23,000 per annum and including the attached accommodation.

The pub’s features include:

  • Large open plan bar with several smaller customer rooms.
  • Late licence to 3am seven days a week.
  • New outside beer garden space and smoking area.
  • Large commercial kitchen.
  • Function room for 100 people.

Hilton Smythe added: “Very rarely do free of tie public houses of this size come onto the market in this area, and we therefore recommend early enquiry to avoid disappointment.”
