BELOW is a round-up of all court cases concerning offences which took place in, or defendants from, Denbighshire, Conwy or Gwynedd, covered by the Journal, Pioneer or Chronicle this week (Apr 29 - May 5):
Denbighshire
A couple of footballers were sentenced after a fight broke out at the end of a match between CPD Y Rhyl 1879 and CPD Bangor 1876.
A third defendant charged with affray, Rhyl player Leon Atkins, 21, of Heswall, will appear in court on May 17.
The 14-year-old pleaded guilty to eight offences.
Conwy
Jack Brown, 30, of Broadway Hotel, Mostyn Broadway, Llandudno, attacked another person while “in a rage” in Rhyl town centre.
Judge Rhys Rowlands told Brown: “It cannot be said to be, in any way, out of character."
Gwynedd
John Nwadiaju, 34, of High Street, Bangor, was spared jail after he “violently attacked and abused” his wife in the city.
He had assaulted his wife, Kosisochukwu Stella Echem, on October 13, 2022.
They had married in Nigeria in April 2022, having been in a relationship since the previous October.
