A FATHER and son are set to open a new exotic pet shop in Rhuddlan.

Russ Draper and son Tom will welcome customers to “Tropical Exotics”, at unit 15 of HTM Business Park, from 10am on Saturday, May 13.

It will stock a wide range of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates and more, with an online shop also being developed for the business.

A grand opening day raffle will also be held on May 13, with the chance to win an animal of your choice plus a full set-up for it (including water and food bowls and bedding).

Russ said: “It’s been my lad’s little dream to have his own exotic pet shop, so we’ve just facilitated that dream.

“He has experience of this, but it’s all brand new to me!

“It’s all exotic animals – lizards, chameleons, snakes, spiders, scorpions, frogs, tortoises… and then, obviously, all of the food, housing and supplies for them.

“So, you can walk in the shop and buy a reptile, and literally everything for it, and then take it away and give it a comfortable life.”
