BOTH Rhyl RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) lifeboats launched last night (April 20) as part of a search for a missing person believed to be on the beach between Rhyl and Abergele.
The all-weather boat and the inshore boat both launched at 9pm, tasked with assisting North Wales Police and Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team in the search.

After searching for a while, and with nothing seen, the lifeboats were released by the Coastguard co-ordinating centre at Holyhead, and returned to the Rhyl station by 11.30pm.
North Wales Police confirmed that the incident was mental health-related.
Rhyl Coastguard made no further comment when approached.
