A WOMAN from Rhyl has pleaded for online donations so that a life-saving operation for her grandmother’s dog can be afforded.
Olivia Demilow, 23, said grandma Kathryn’s Cocker Spaniel, called Dibbles, needs cruciate ligament surgery due to his struggles walking.
This followed the nine-year-old dog sustaining a rupture on April 3.
If he doesn’t have an operation, Olivia said, the dog’s vet said the next best thing would be for Dibbles to be put down.

A donations page has been set up on the website “GoFundMe” by Kathryn herself, with a target set of £3,000.
Olivia said: “Dibbles means the world to us. He has been our strength when we have needed it the most, and he makes us laugh by being daft and rolling around and playing in the garden.
“Everyone on Kings Avenue knows who Dibbles is. The kids love him; he is just so friendly, and he likes to be a best friend to everyone.

“Because we are so used to seeing him so hyperactive and happy, it saddens us all, especially myself and my nan, to see him like this.
“We know times are hard for people right now, but a small donation would be appreciated so much, and will hope to get our ‘DibDobs’ back to his usual self, and make the street happier when they see his smiley face.”
Olivia said the money needs to be raised by May 10 for Dibbles to have his operation.

The fundraiser page itself was set up by Kathryn, and has so far raised £35.
In a post on the page, Kathryn wrote: “The alternative is heart-breaking.
“Either he will have to live in pain with little quality of life, or the unthinkable euthanasia.
“We don’t want this to happen. If anybody can help Dibbles, we would be so grateful and will give updates on his operation and recovery.”
