A US Army helicopter was spotted flying over Flintshire and Wrexham this afternoon.
Many residents would have heard the rumbling of helicopters, with eyewitnesses saying there were as many as three, flying over the region at around 12pm today (April 18).
According to Flightradar24, there was a Boeing CH-47F Chinook, owned by the United States Army.
The choppers were flying from Dublin to an unknown location.
They were seen by people along the coastline and as far as Flintshire, with witnesses describing seeing between three and six aircraft.
The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a tandem-rotor helicopter developed by American rotorcraft company Vertol and manufactured by Boeing Vertol. The Chinook is a heavy-lift helicopter that is among the heaviest-lifting Western helicopters.
The Chinook possesses several means of loading various cargoes, including multiple doors across the fuselage, a wide loading ramp located at the rear of the fuselage and a total of three external ventral cargo hooks to carry underslung loads.
It is capable of a top speed of 170 knots (200 mph; 310 km/h)
Did you see or spot any of the Chinooks over North Wales?
