A NUMBER of campervans have been spotted in a car park at a supermarket in Rhyl.

In total, five such vehicles were seen outside Morrisons, on Marsh Road, yesterday afternoon (April 12).

Eyewitness Luke Burton took the above picture, depicting the campervans in the car park.

He added that he also saw “a load of rubbish at the side of them, with cables going everywhere, and clothes in the trees.”

“I saw three people there; they have their cars parked at the side of the campervans,” he said.

“I was there on Monday and they weren’t there, so I guess they set up yesterday.”

Both Denbighshire County Council and Morrisons said they are aware of the matter.

A council spokesperson said: “We are aware of the Travellers present at Morrisons supermarket in Rhyl, and have been in contact with Morrisons’ management.”

A Morrisons spokesperson added: “We are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.”

Similar unauthorised encampments were set up last summer and in November, including at the Marsh Road recycling centre and by the promenade on East Parade.

Last August, a family of “Travellers” were asked to leave the SC2 water park in Rhyl after entering the premises without paying.
