A TOTAL of five people appeared in court yesterday (April 11) in relation to an incident in Rhyl, four of whom have been charged with attempted murder.

The incident took place on Crescent Road in the early hours of Sunday (April 9), with residents telling the Journal that it involved a “stabbing”.

After appearing at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court yesterday, all five defendants have been remanded in custody.

A 17-year-old man from Rhyl has been charged with attempted murder, possession of a bladed article, and perverting the course of justice.

Callum John Parker, 18, from Rhyl, has been charged with attempted murder and perverting the course of justice.

Paige Louise Roberts, 18, and Sharon Roberts, 37, both from Trelogan, Flintshire have been charged with attempted murder.

Liam Babbs, 24, from Rhyl, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

They are due to appear at Mold Crown Court on Friday, May 12.

As of yesterday, North Wales Police said that the victim was in a stable condition in hospital.

Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Hughes said: “I appreciate there may be some concerns locally given the police presence that has been in place in the Crescent Road area of Rhyl.

“I would like to reassure residents that there is nothing to suggest any further risk to the public.

“Our investigations into this incident are ongoing, and I am asking anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage, or anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage or in the area surrounding Crescent Road to get in touch with officers.

“I am also appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any information that could assist with our investigation to come forward and speak to us by calling 101, or via our live webchat online, using reference 23000299493.”
