A NEW secure dog adventure park opened in Rhuddlan last weekend.

“Paw Park”, on Abergele Road, welcomed dog owners for the first time on Friday (April 7), and enjoyed a first weekend with all appointment spaces booked up.

The park is based on 400 metres of agricultural land belonging to the grandfather of park owner, Ashlea Rowlands, from which Rhuddlan Castle can be seen.

Ashlea, from Bodfari, said: “It went fantastically well. We were fully booked, and everyone seem to enjoy it; quite a lot of people have left reviews on our Facebook page.

“I’m just relieved, really, that everybody enjoyed it. All of the feedback has been really positive; I’m really pleased.

“Everybody said that their dogs seemed to enjoy all of the agility equipment, and interacting with other dogs, too.

“We’re going to start offering 30-minute sessions from later this week, which is what a few people said they would like, instead of one hour.

“The other thing that people have asked for is ‘social meetings’ for dogs of a specific size or breed, which we’re looking at doing, as well.”

Dog adventure park to be built on agricultural land in Rhuddlan

The park’s opening hours are from 6am until 9pm, with one-hour sessions costing between £11 and £21 depending on the number of dogs (maximum is eight).

Found just off the Abergele Straights, it aims to provide an ideal space for dogs who are insecure or unhappy in the company of other dogs to enjoy themselves.

Paw Park’s field has 6ft-high secure fencing, agility equipment, and onsite parking with a coded gate entry.

There is also a sheltered area and a bench for people to enjoy while their dogs play.
