A PUB in Rhyl has closed its doors today (March 17) – but there is hope that it will soon re-open under new management.

The Blue Moon, on Vale Road, will change hands from April 1 after its tenants confirmed on March 2 that their lease is to end.

But the pub closed for business today following “unforeseen circumstances” arising.

A spokesperson for The Blue Moon confirmed to the Journal that the pub is “closed permanently as of today, but the owners are looking for a manager/tenant to resume the business as normal”.

The spokesperson added that they were “not sure on a timescale” for its potential re-opening.

Earlier this month, its outgoing tenants said they made the “difficult” decision to move on with a “heavy heart”.

Last month, police were called to the pub after reports of a wounding at the premises.

A man was taken to hospital following the incident, which was on February 17.
