A CHARITY shop that will donate money to a veterans support group is set to open in Prestatyn.

Life & Soul Veteran Aid, on Marine Road next to the One Stop, will donate money to the SSAFA through Woody’s Lodge North Wales, which is based in Colwyn Bay.

Woody’s Lodge provides support to veterans, and gives them a chance to meet up and meet friends old and new.

The site is currently being refurbished, with the decoration process underway and an aim to open within the next two weeks.

A charity spokesperson said: “We know how important this charity is and we also have family and friends that are veterans. Some that are not with us anymore.

“Our friend that is helping us with the shop served in the Falkland’s too and has episodes of depression.

“We were thinking that families could bring photos in of their loved ones and we could display behind the counter.

“We will be requesting that all donations that we make to SSAFA can stay locally and help in the community.

“We are really looking forward to meeting everyone locally and listening to everyone’s stories all of which will be very different.”
