RHYL'S town hall hosted a weekend of horror - and it won't be for the last time!
London has FrightFest, Manchester has Grimmfest, Aberystwyth has Abertoir, and now Rhyl has its own horror festival that in time could rival them all.
The inaugural Rhyller Thriller, on March 11&12, boasted film screenings, guests from in front of and behind the camera, and traders selling horrific creations.
Organised by Rhyl's Chad Jones, the weekend was such a success that plans are already underway for future events.
The events first guest was Simon Bamford, who appeared in Clive Barker's Hellraiser, which was screened on Saturday night, and Nightbreed.
Also there was Dominic Brunt, known to most as Emmerdale's Paddy, who has a prolific passion for writing, directing and appearing in horror films.
He talked about his latest film Wolf Manor in a Q&A after it was screened.
Highlights of the films being screened were imaginative Welsh-language folk horror Gwyledd (The Feast) and John Williams' Tales of Creeping Death that features an unforgettable homage to the town of Rhyl.
Chad even found time to premiere his own movie, filmed in a day, Mari Lwyd.
Local filmmaker Edward Evers-Swindell, director of Infestation and Dark Signal, screened House of Horace; a film made with friends and family in Flintshire and Denbighshire to rekindle his own love of the craft and well as inspire the next generation.
There were also famous faces among the attendees, as Rhyl's own Spencer Wilding, known for his portrayals of The Wolfman and Darth Vader, was there to watch movies and chat horror.
Spencer's latest film Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves has just been released in cinemas.
After the event, Chad said: "I'm insanely proud at the turnout over the two days.
"They say it takes a village to raise a child and the village I had to help raise my baby was immense. I can't thank all the my team enough."
Chad added: "Rhyl needs more things like this, more people who will give other people's dreams a chance.
"The support from near and far really warmed my heart.
"I think Rhyller Thriller part 2: Revenge of the Thriller will definitely be happening!"
