DENBIGHSHIRE actor Rhys Ifans is set to start shooting on the second season of the hit HBO show House of the Dragon.
Ifans, who grew in Ruthin, plays calculating Hand of the King Otto Hightower in the popular Game of Thrones spinoff series.
HBO renewed House of the Dragon for a second season back in August, just days after the series debuted.

During a FYC screening in Los Angeles attended by Ifans, showrunner Ryan Condal said production on the second season is scheduled to begin ‘very shortly’.
Five more dragons in the books will be introduced in season two,
House of the Dragon is set hundreds of years before the events of Game of Thrones, and focuses on the reign of House Targaryen.
Season two is not expected to debut until 2024.
