TV PERSONALITY, campaigner and athlete Josh Patterson will be visiting North Wales soon as part of a record-breaking challenge for charity.

“Made in Chelsea” star Josh, 33, is aiming to complete 76 marathons in 76 cities in 76 days – three of which he will run in St Asaph, Bangor and Wrexham.

Josh’s “Run 4 1 Million” challenge sees him aim to raise £1million for suicide prevention charity, Samaritans.

Reaching his target of £1million could fund 200,000 lifesaving phone calls.

He has so far run 10 marathons in as many days, and will be taking on his 11th today (March 9) in Londonderry.

Josh’s Chester and North Wales marathons are as follows:

  • Chester – March 29
  • St Asaph – March 30
  • Bangor – March 31
  • Wrexham – April 1

He said: “The last couple have been tricky, but you take it with a pinch of salt. This was never going to be an easy challenge, and I’ve got a great team around me who are like family.

“Wales is a place I travel to an awful lot; I travelled to Snowdonia not so long ago, and it was amazing. It’s just a great part of the world

“And how can you not know Wrexham – they’ve got the most famous football club in the world now!

“I’ve been in a position where I’ve struggled, and have had the resources around me to help me overcome it, but there are a lot of people out there who don’t have that.

“I really want to ensure I use my platform to try to help raise that awareness, and an awful lot of money, to help people overcome whatever adversity they face.

“Samaritans is an amazing charity, which is (available) in every single one of the 76 cities I’m running in. They’re an amazing option, or solution; it’s an accessible phone call for all.

“If we raise the full million, that will fund 200,000 phone calls. That’s an awful lot of people in the UK who could benefit from that.”

Josh is already the holder of two world record titles – he became the first abled-bodied person to travel from John O’Groats to Lands’ End using a wheelchair in just 19 days, making him the fastest person to do so.

He later achieved another world’s first, in completing four marathons in a 24-hour period across the four nations of the UK.

Members of both his team and the general public have joined him on his marathons so far, with Josh adding his gratitude for their “amazing” support.

He said: “Every single one of the challenges have managed to raise awareness and money for my chosen charity, which for me, is the biggest success of all.

“The most marathons I’d (previously) ever run consecutively was six in five days. We’re already way above that.

“Mentally, I know I can do all 76. I want this so badly. I want to raise the full million, and I’ll give it everything I have.

“The public have been so unbelievably supportive, and when times get really tough, the donations and the messages coming really do get you through it.”
