THE opening of Zip World’s new Skyflyer attraction in Rhyl has been delayed once more due to a “manufacturing issue”.

Due to open to the public on March 11, the launch of the attraction, which will take thrill-seekers 400ft up in the air, was postponed indefinitely today (March 8).

The attraction was due to open last summer, but was then delayed until 2023 due to an “engineering and design challenge” found during testing.

Zip World Skyflyer inflated again ahead of delayed Rhyl launch

Zip World said it would be in touch with those who had already booked a ride on the Skyflyer, and said it will confirm its new opening date as soon as possible.

A Zip World statement read: “As with any new, uncharted venture, there comes unforeseen challenges, and we have discovered a setback with Skyflyer which means we need to delay the launch.

“At Zip World, we are committed to providing world-class experiences and we would never want to open an adventure that we’re not totally happy with, and Skyflyer is no exception.

“We have uncovered what appears to be a manufacturing issue, and we are working closely with the manufacturer to find a way forward.

“While we don’t have confirmed new date for opening yet, our passion and excitement to launch another world-class attraction in Rhyl is as strong as ever.

“We have a wonderful, local team ready to welcome guests, and we are hopeful that we can do so soon.

“We will be in touch with customers who have booked a Skyflyer ride to offer them the chance to either postpone or refund their tickets.

“We’d like to thank all our customers and local residents for their patience and support, and will share a new launch date as soon as we are able to.”
