A PUB in Rhuddlan has set up automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras in its car park in an attempt to deal with “problem parking” concerns.

The Kings Head, on High Street, had the cameras installed last Tuesday (February 21), before going live the following day.

Drivers will be allowed to park for up to 20 minutes if they are visiting other businesses, while pub customers can park for longer by first checking in at the bar.

Customers at the pub will also still be allowed to leave their vehicle in the pub car park overnight.

A post on the pub’s Facebook page last Tuesday read: “A lot of you passing today would have seen workmen in our car park.

“Due to the rising issue of ‘problem parking’, we have had ANPR parking cameras installed in our car park, which go live tomorrow (February 22).

“We are allowing a 20-minute wait time for those wishing to use the chemist, post office, Spar etc. so not to inconvenience members of our local community.

“Customers of the Kings Head are asked to check in at either one of our two bars on the tablet provided.

“It will ask you for your vehicle registration (assistance provided by a member of our team if needed).

“Customers can still leave their vehicle in our car park overnight as per normal, so no change there.
